Well, We are getting settled in nicely and everything is getting put back together! And now, I've adopted MORE! But, not more mice, I've adopted some OTHER net orphans. There is this great place called SherriBerrie's Net Baby's, and they are so cute, I just had to adopt one, and I did. Her name is Alison, and she's a teeny little baby. Well, ok, she's not a NEWBORN, she's about 9 months old, and while she can't WALK yet, she can pull herself up and stand, then she falls down on her butt again, she's so cute. I've also put in aplications for three more adoptees, they're bears, Two are sisters from Pooh's Corner, and another one is a sweetie from Billy Bears. I still haven't gotten them or a little boy yet, but, I'm working on that. So, right now, We've got Tessa, MariAnne, Marie, Lexa and Alison. With Lexa in that wheelchair, and Marie's braces, we were lucky to find a house with an elevator, since Lexa refuses to be any different from the others. Oh my! I'll bet you're wondering who these people are! Well, let me see, there are MariAnne, she's 16, and Marie, she's 8. They're biological sisters. Their rooms are the middle row of windows, MariAnne on the far left two windows, and Marie is in the smack middle two windows. You might notice the braces on Marie's legs, but I beg you not to bring up the circumstances around them. See, she and MariAnne are victims of child abuse, they used to get beaten by their biological father early in their lives. One time, he went too far, and broke Marie's legs and there was severe nerve damage. They healed well alright, heck, she's been begging me lately to let her take bike riding lessons, and I don't know how I'll work that one out, because she's stuck in those leg braces. She gets physical therapy four times a week, and she is getting stronger. Well, as for her father, Mousie Protective services DID step in, albiet too late, and removed MariAnne and Marie from their awful father about five years ago. They were sitting up in vikimouse's orphanage when I found out about them, not wanting to be broken up. I was glad to have them!! We've been together for about, oh, three months. We've really bonded. And now, we have Tessa and Lexa and Alison!

First, I adopted Tessa, 16, a girl who seemed dark and odd at first. NOW I know she's a wonderful girl, I knew that before I adopted her, but she's opening up, and I found some VERY interesting things out about her. She came home with me from a different orphanage then MariAnne and Marie and Lexa, she was adopted at the Second Chance Mission, a place where children of war or of parents that are sent to dangerous places to help out, are left if they have no other family they can be left with. Luckily, it's small and VERY uncrowded. Tessa's parents were great doctors, very rich, and when Tessa was about 3, they were chosen to go off to Zaire to help battle a deadly disease. She has no grandparents, they're all deceased, and her parents had no siblings, so the only option was to leave her at Second Chance for the five years they were assigned. It was the safest thing to do for her. They were there for only a year, when a tragic and untimely thing occured. Tessa's parents were riding in an open land cruiser that had no seat belts, it hit a hole in the road too fast, flipped, and they were thrown from the car and killed instantly. When news got back to Second Chance, Tessa was placed in a foster home, and has been bounced from foster home to foster home all of her life, untill recently, when I adopted her at 16. She's a quiet girl at times and is usually completely engorged in a book. Acctually, when I brought her home from Second Chance Mission, the very next day, boxes and boxes of things started to arrive! She got very excited when she saw them, and started to rip them open. The majority of the boxes were BOOKS! More books then I have EVER seen! I didn't know WHAT we were going to DO with all of these books!! That is why we had to get such a large place, a room JUST for her books. Another interesting thing I found out was that she was a CHEERLEADER! Is a cheerleader, she attends a private school, payed for by the money left from her parents. This really really freaked me out! I mean, this girl wears ALL black, is quiet and thoughtful, a deep thinker, and when I was in school, I was so much like that, NO one thought I would make a good cheerleader. She tells me she's a great one though, and I'm going to a football game to watch her real soon. Then I was talking to Marie, and she told me about the many disabled children at the Vikimouse orphanage, wouldn't I PLEASE think about getting one of those too? Like they're just, animals, and she and I had to have a talk about it not being a pet store. Then I got to thinking, you know, one more little girl wouldn't be a bad thing, but we'll need a bigger house.

While we were waiting for our bigger house to be found, Lexa moved into our lives and hearts. She's a sweetheart really, and when she was a very young child, she got very sick and they feared that she might have contracted menengitis and was subjected to an emergency spinal tap. The test came back negative, but something went horribly wrong and they severely damaged her spinal cord. They tried to do their best at fixing it, but it was a loss. Sadly, she was so damaged, she was paralized from the waist down, and sadly, needed a LOT of medical attention and therapy and a wheelchair and wheelchair accessable family. Her parents were very poor, not so much that they were POOR, but living week to week, and they could not afford to take care of her. She was given up for adoption at the tender age of 5, sad, depressed, and paralized. She lived at the orphanage all of her life, and thanks to state support, she was given a wheelchair and lived her life there untill I adopted her. But, like Marie, she is VERY independant. She's got a great sense of humor and loves practical jokes. She also loves horseback riding and swimming. She seems happy, but I know she will need a lot of physical and emotional therapy. You can read more about her when you visit her.

And of course, little Alison Daisy, was adopted at Net Babys amd she was just an unwanted pregnancy and her mother dropped her off shortly after she was born, and now, I've adopted her.
